Eden Gardens

This post is not about the stadium, the "mecca" of Indian Cricket but literally about the garden.
The place was named after the Eden sisters of the then governor-general of Indian, Lord Auckland. Today it is maintained by the West Bengal tourism department and is a must visit for all especially nature lovers.
In a couple of places of this sprawling garden there are slides and jungle gym for children and young adults.
Eden Gardens also has nursery from where plant lovers can buy seedlings besides plants and clay pots. 
The park has two pagodas and this one in particular is the Burmese pagoda which enhances the aesthetics of the park. 
Located close to the Ganges, the  place also offers a good view of the setting sun. 
It is an ideal date spot for lovers, nature lovers and children who can enjoy in the lap of nature amidst the cacophony of birds. 
The place also has a small cafeteria where tea, coffee and snacks are available.

Location - Next to Eden Gardens Cricket ground, opposite Mohun Bagan Club. 
Entry fee- Rs 20/-
Nearest metro station- Esplanade.
Bus route - Almost all buses bound for Babughat.
